Our History 


Jan Plummer, Founding Developer of HDSS patented Technology

After 20 years of seeking true sound reproduction Jan Plummer, the genius inventor of HDSS® sound technology, developed a single point speaker that produces the complete sound range without the inevitable distortion that comes from added drivers and their corresponding cross-over networks. Undistorted sound allows the brain which interprets sound to do so without difficulty. This monumental achievement allows a loudspeaker, in real-time, to self-regulate any frequency by maintaining isothermal conditions in the speaker enclosure without electronic intervention. Jan Plummer and his brother, Bentley, formed TBI Audio Systems and Blue Ever Blue HDSS® companies. Now they are launching their third wave of audio innovation with the crystal clear, light-weight, and small HDSS® Majestic Diamond (MD-1PM) audio monitor designed specifically for persons with tinnitus, for cochlear implant users, and for the hard of hearing.

 

Our Specialty 


HDSS® Technology is ideal for those experiencing tinnitus or hearing loss. The technology imitates the functions of the Eustachian Tube located in the inner ear; it works to maintain the pressure of various elements of an input compound sound wave in a linear relationship with natural wavelengths.  The Majestic Diamond (MD-1PM) HDSS® audio monitor eliminates distortion caused by improper pressure relationships. While there is no cure for tinnitus or hearing loss, the technology behind the MD-1PM has provided much appreciated hearing benefits. HDSS® Technology has been recognized by the Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA) as an “innovative technology” with the “potential to benefit many people with hearing loss.”

 HDSS®. Why we Sound Better 

Based on recently patented Embedded Transmission Line (ETL) technology, HDSS® solves a nearly 100 year old audio engineering dilemma: How do you reduce distortion and noise caused by the heat generated by a vibrating loudspeaker cone? HDSS® solves this dilemma by keeping the pressure in the sound system constant thereby eliminating distortion and noise. It achieves this by placing in the sound enclosure a non-electronic ETL device, which absorbs the increased heat.

The ETL Technology is ideal for those who suffer from Tinnitus or loss of hearing. ETL Technology mimics the functionality of the Eustachian Tube located in the inner ear; it works to maintain the pressure of various elements of an input compound wave in a linear relation with natural wavelengths. While there is no cure for hearing impairment, the technology behind our products has been proven relief for those with insufficient hearing ability.
